The Future is Bright at Children's Fund

Dear Children’s Fund family,

I am writing to inform you that, with mixed emotions, our President & CEO, Dr. Ciriaco “Cid” Pinedo, submitted his letter of resignation to the board. Cid led Children’s Fund for four and a half years, providing Support, Opportunity, and Hope to children who were experiencing poverty, abuse, and neglect. We are excited for Cid and his future opportunities, and he will be missed.

Cid is assisting in the transition plan with the board and leadership of Children’s Fund to ensure a smooth transition. The first step in that plan was to identify an Interim President & CEO while we conduct an extensive search.

I am pleased to announce that we have just engaged our interim CEO, John Crowe.

John has extensive management and development experience, including 20 years at USC and 14 years at the Claremont Colleges. He holds an Executive MBA degree from Claremont's Peter F. Drucker- Masatoshi Ito School, completed doctoral studies at USC, and graduated from USC's Advanced Management Program. He holds a MA in American Studies and a BA in Journalism from CSU Los Angeles.

We are pleased that John has joined us and shares in our vision of a bright future for every child.

The future is bright at Children’s Fund. We will continue to advocate for all children, ensuring that their needs are met.

In the next few months, we will be providing computers and Grad Packs to graduating foster youth, backpacks & school supplies to local children, and Dorm Kits for under-resourced college students. We will be hosting over 1,500 children at a 66ers baseball game, and inviting our supporters to Meet & Greets to hear from the children we serve. This month, we just awarded over 25 Shine-A-Light scholarships to vulnerable youth. Great things are happening at Children’s Fund.

As always, thank you for your support of Children's Fund. Because of you, children can experience the stability they need to have hope for their future once again.

Sincerely,

Neal Waner

Chairman of the Board
