Why do you support Children’s Fund?

I support Children’s Fund because they supported me during my higher education journey. As someone who experienced foster care and homelessness, they helped me pursue my vision of attending college and ultimately graduating. While in college, I received scholarships from Children’s Fund multiple times, which helped cover my rent and ensured I had a stable place to live while focusing on my education. They also gave me the opportunity to advocate directly to their board members as a youth, allowing my voice and experiences to be heard.

Today, I want to give back and be that same light for someone else, just as Children’s Fund was for me. As the Public Relations Chair, my goal is to help ensure that youth and families facing challenges like mine receive the support, opportunities, and hope they deserve.

Tell me about your favorite Children’s Fund program and why it is important to you.

I love the Sports Fair that takes place every summer. It brings youth from across the community together to connect, compete, and simply enjoy being kids through sports. What makes this event so special is that the entire focus is on uplifting young people and reminding them that they can succeed no matter what circumstances they come from.

I’ve had the opportunity to speak at this event, and the impact it has on the youth is truly noticeable. Children’s Fund is not just an incredible nonprofit organization; it is a beacon of hope and support for so many youth and families in our community.
